Two different pricing models for you to choose

You decide if you want to pay US$0.25 per Gigabyte to store your data, using the pay-per-gigabyte model, or if you prefer to pay US$2.50 per column you have on your database and have free and unlimited data storage, using the pay-per-column model.

No matter how you decide to pay, this will only happen when you create your production database, because you can test SlicingDice without any cost for as long as you want.

Pay-per-gigabyte

By using the pay-per-gigabyte pricing model you only will pay for the storage space used to store the data on your SlicingDice database.

This table on the right describes how we calculate the total size of your database, according to each data type you store on it.

Null values for any column type are calculated as 0 bytes. Repeated values are calculated per entry, so a Numeric column with 4 entries counts as 32 bytes.

Important: Different from most of our competitors, we don't charge anything for processing the queries you make! Amazing, right?

Monthly spend example

...

Suppose you have this data on the left. As you can see, there are four different column types, User ID is a UniqueID column type, Name is a String column type, Age is a Numeric column type and Clicks is a String Time-series column type.

To generate your monthly bill, SlicingDice will look all the values stored on each column and multiply by the size factor according to the column type, plus the query load and data insertion plans you selected.

So on this table each value for the User ID and Name columns will have 2 bytes + the UTF-8 encoded string size, the values for the column Age will have 8 bytes and the values for the Clicks column will have 2 bytes + the UTF-8 encoded string size + 8 bytes for the timestamp. For this table, it should sum up to 177 bytes.

Let's suppose that you need storage for 100 GB of data for a more realistic scenario and you needed a high data insertion plan. The total monthly spend calculation would be:

Monthly spend = Sum of Gigabytes stored x Cost per Gigabyte + Data Insertion Plan + Query Load Plan.

Example: $75.00 per month = 100 GB x $0.25 ($25.00) + high data insertion ($50.00) + normal query load ($0.00)

Pay-per-column

Suppose you have this database on the right. As you can see, there are four columns, User ID column that stores the primary key, Name and Age columns storing attributes, and the Clicks column storing event data (event value + timestamp) that also counts as a single column.

To know what is your monthly bill, you simply need to count how many columns you have on your SlicingDice database, that is four in this case, and then multiply by US$ 2.50 per column.

By selecting the pay-per-column model you can store as much data (values/rows) as you need without increasing costs, as you are only charged by the number of columns you have, not by the volume of data you insert on your columns. Amazing, right?

Monthly spend = number of columns x Cost per Column + Data Insertion Plan + Query Load Plan.

Example: $60.00 per month = 4 columns x $2.50 ($10.00) + normal data insertion ($0.00) + high query load ($50.00)

Unlimited and Free Data Storage

That’s right, by selecting the pay-per-column model you can store as much data (values/rows) as you need without increasing costs, as you are only charged by the number of columns you have, not by the volume of data you insert on your columns. Amazing, right?

We believe you shouldn't be punished financially just because you collect and analyze lots of data.

We are fully committed to your query speed

If any of your queries takes longer than 10 seconds to complete, no matter its complexity, you automatically receive $0.10 discount each time on your account.

If your query is slow we believe it’s our responsibility, not yours.
